Directed Contract Information Note - Quarterly Round 17
Today, Friday 3rd June 2016, the Regulatory Authorities (RAs) publish a Decision Paper on the quantities and prices for the "Round 17” offerings of Directed Contracts (DCs), covering the period Q4 2016 to Q3 2017 inclusive (SEM16-029).
Directed Contracts are a part of the RAs market power mitigation strategy to ensure that the benefits associated with the SEM are not undermined by the abuse of market power. The purpose of these contracts is to remove the incentive on ESB Power Generation and Power NI Power Procurement Business to attempt to profit from the use of market power.
Supplier eligibility for DCs will be communicated from the Regulatory Authorities to each relevant supplier and to the seller (ESB) separately.
