The SEM Committee today publishes its decision on the Future Arrangements for System Services, Day Ahead System Services Auction (DASSA) Product Review and Locational Methodology. This decision follows a public consultation held by the TSOs and a subsequent recommendations paper submitted by the TSOs on 4th September 2024.
Overall, the SEM Committee considers the specific technical products recommended by the TSOs to be suitable for the DASSA. The products are well defined and reasonable with regards to addressing system needs.
The SEM Committee welcomes the introduction of downward reserves and considers that it will provide market participant the incentive to provide greater stability to the system and is in line with EU standards.
Following on from this, the TSOs will review the Grid Code in terms of DASSA product definition alignment as outlined in the Phased Implementation Roadmap (PIR).
